Here is a brief description of the activity from Buccio and Giuliana, creators and hosts of this experience:
“'Via delle Palme' is born from our emotional attachment to the memories and the people who have helped shape us into the man and woman we are today.
Our families, the traditions of our island, the people we meet who open their homes but, most importantly, their hearts to us: this is the treasure we protect jealously.
We are Buccio and Giuliana, a couple who believes that one can always reinvent oneself, that it’s never too late to do what makes you happy, and that success in life comes when things are done with heart.
Our goal is to share with you the emotions we have always felt at the table when our grandparents uncovered the pots and the delicious aromas made us forget all our worries.
What and how we do it:
- We offer a Private Chef and professional Sommelier service.
- We create a custom menu, together with the client, respecting their requests and preferences, while adhering to our philosophy of Sicilian cuisine made from authentic recipes.
- We take care of all the shopping and sourcing of the ingredients ourselves.
- The products (zero km) used come exclusively from our garden or from trusted small producers.
- The bread is baked in our wood-fired oven.
- The fish comes from our trusted fisherman in Portopalo and is always fresh and seasonal.
- The recipes result from a continuous search for Sicilian tradition and culture during our ongoing journeys to rediscover the authenticity of Sicilian gastronomy.
- We source the highest quality raw materials.
- We offer authentic recipes acquired during our ongoing travels, where we learn typical local recipes from Sicilian grandmothers and their culture.
- We pair food and wine and offer Sommelier service.
- We serve at the table.
- In the end, we clean and tidy up.
